This 30 minute warm-up for the after school program (4th – 8th grade) will explore the concepts of BREATH-CALM-CENTER-ROOT-ENERGY to support, balance and improve body performance in order to more fully express creative movement and intent. Based on traditional tenets of Taiji (Tai Chi), the students will improve body awareness, spatial perception, concentration and their ability to maintain focus for an extended period of time.
TAIJI KIDZ classes with Karin focus on developing basic principles to increase self-awareness, better connections to others, improve listening skills & foster greater cooperation using Taiji & the martial arts as a template for learning.
Kids learn basic meditation & calming practices, do strength, fitness & flexibility training and learn the fun interactive aspect of Taiji as a martial art that boosts confidence in all aspects.
